Imagined Cities
The IMAGINED CITIES contests are returning as part of the grassroots activities of the VI URBAN REGENERATION FORUM – BIA 2024.
Cities are environments built and inhabited by citizens who incorporate and express the urban experience by means of a great diversity of social and artistic practices. The IV BIA SKETCH calls on citizens of any age to use their sketches and drawings to show different approaches to the urban experience, both with regard to architecture, amenities and built spaces, and to the way in which the public uses and practices those spaces and the resources to be found there. The graphic expression connects the body and hand of the person drawing with the imaginary of the built city by establishing unparalleled bridges between the incorporated urban experience and the diversity of viewpoints, cultures and practices that coexist in the city. BIA SKETCH thus wants people to delve further into the relationship between the stroke, the urban form and the citizen gesture, by focusing on the great diversity of aesthetics, everyday practices and citizen activities.
