Meetings

For the VI edition of the event, BIA IS RETURNING TO THE IN-PERSON FORMAT and is continuing with the online format tested in the last two editions and which were successful in terms of participation and attendance.  They are meetings with talks by a range of experts with different approaches to the general theme. They provide the context for the subsequent discussion at the panels that end each day. The encounters will end with a final lecture of the BIA Award 2024.

1. Explore: THEORY

This first line that will get BIA under way seeks to explore the broad and disputed meanings of the great terms of the present: ecology, sustainability, climate change, and the Anthropocene. We will lay the foundations and discuss which today’s potential escape routes are.  BIA will welcome two great thinkers of our time who will use philosophy and urban thought to guide and steer us towards new balance horizons with the planet.

2.- Think: REACT

A second line – once the field has been marked out – seeks to use architecture and landscape to discern answers or reactions towards alternative futures.  How to act; how to intervene; how to renovate. Is rewilding possible?

Along with two of today’s most influential architects and landscapers, we will share diagnoses, will go over success stories, and will find new ways to work to re-balance climate, city and living.
