Imagined cities
The IMAGINED CITIES contests are returning as part of the grassroots activities of the VI URBAN REGENERATION FORUM – BIA 2024.
The urban imaginary is the outcome of a great variety of ways of depicting the city and of projecting new itineraries of understanding. Literary texts rebuild the city and the urban experience by opening up those itineraries to new and unparalleled ways of exploring the city, memory, and citizen practices and activities. Writing is to reweave the differences, tensions and rips of the urban fabric, by putting down in words the diverse ways of inhabiting and imagining the city.
To that end, the IV BIA STORIES contest calls on citizens of any age to capture different accounts of the rural and urban environments in their micro-stories, along with depicting the way in which the people who live there experience the events of grassroots life.
