ENERGY AND ARCHITECTURE
BIA KLIMA_ reGENERATING FUTURE. Climate and Energy gets the first session underway with a technical interdisciplinary insight panel.
Climate and energy have become two of the variables that are going to most impact the way of designing and constructing in the coming years. Social awareness, new regulations, and a business and economic culture that is ever more aware make these key aspects in the regeneration of our built and urban areas. During these insights on ENERGY AND ARCHITECTURE, different professionals will reflect on and provide key examples of the direction of this current effort to eagerly improve our environment from the different disciplines.

ANARCHEOLOGY OF THE POSTNATURAL
Gabriel Alonso
This session will consider the concept of Postnature, taken to be political subject, as a discussion platform from which to research, consider problematic issues and discuss new approaches of the artistic practice that posit the definitive dissolution of the nature-culture pairing. An anarcheology journey through materials, tales and places will create a transcale alchemy of images and events; a speculative journey through the complexity of the relationships between the visual culture and their political, economic and social ramifications.
ATTNT
KELLER REASTERLING
ATTTNT is a continental infrastructures of reparation lands that models planetary sovereignties and crucial solidarities
to survive a climate crisis. It learns from the black and indigenous victims of the last five hundred years of colonisation, capitalisation and globalisation, whose resistance stories provided cooperation and mutuality practices to counter the Enlightenment/modern/white habits and monocultures. Reparations – essential to address the climate – return to the root causes and the damage patterns, which will otherwise only continue. They revolve around community economies and living organisations instead of financial abstractions. In this framework, problems are information, solutions are errors, ideologies are unreliable markers and innovations are not new technologies, but rather more sophisticated relationships between emerging and existing conditions. By reversing certain expectations regarding what constitutes radical thought, the history of design also offers some special tricks to circumvent the political superbugs.

NATURAL HISTORY OF ARCHITECTURE
PHILIPPE RAHM
Philippe Rahm will analyse the natural causes of architectural evolution, i.e., the climate, biological and physical factors that, throughout history, and in close relationships with technological and scientific advances, have influenced its development and shaped its rationale, from pre-history to the present. The Swiss architect will show how rereading the evolution of architecture and urban planning from its material roots allows us not only to understand how they have adapted to the needs and events of each moment, but also to face present and future environmental challenges.
ABSOLUTOS PRINCIPIANTES
IÑAKI ÁBALOS
Iñaki Ábalos will argue about the interest of studying – certainly in the modern span and also at other times – how innovation emerges from rethinking the past from new ideological and technical prisms, and nearly always fully detached from what drove the precedents and their authors. Accordingly, he will call on us to leave behind extremely
trivial, but very widespread ideas about the programme and the place defended by functionalism and contextualism; such a commitment contains – and without hiding it – a radical statement: a good architecture idea is independent of time, context, scale and function, and is, therefore, open to multiple unparalleled explorations. Such a statement is also true inversely: it is always interesting to apply good architectural ideas regardless of their scale, context, programme or time.
