The city, cities, are built environments and citizen spaces where people live, circulate and constantly experience new ways of relating and of social life. Yet cities are also formed by imaginaries and representations of the urban experience with which the citizenry rebuild the city in symbolic terms. These imagined cities, produced with images, texts and discourses of different types, are the result of grassroots and artistic projects that project new horizons of understanding on the urban space.
The VI Urban Regeneration Forum – BIA24, organised by the Delegation in Bizkaia of the Basque-Navarre Institute of Architects (COAVN), wishes to champion the participation and expression by different means of the lived experience of the city. The inhabitant, inhabitants, powering the city.
BIA24 is seeking to echo the multitude of citizen good practices and viewpoints around the use of renewable energies, the diversity of urban cultures, and the ways of relating to energy sources and resources, or solidarity and collective energy that emerges in climate emergency and crisis situations.
Building on the experience of previous years, COAVN Bizkaia is holding three contests for the general public in areas such as photography, writing and graphic expression; the aim is to share the great range of lived experiences, sensitives and ways of building and inhabiting the grassroots and urban space.
As in previous years, COAVN Bizkaia is calling on citizens to take part in the different contests for children and adults alike. We are relying on your energy and we are inviting you to pass it on here.
