Curriculum
Architect with 20 years of experience in architectural design, landscape and urban transport. Graduated in Architecture from the University of Navarra (2004), he has specializations in Landscape and Environment (University of Navarra, 2004), Hospital Architecture (UCAM, 2022) and BIM management (Zigurat, 2019). He currently plays a project management role in SENER Mobility, leading reference projects in the health sector such as the New Hospital of Malaga or the health care and functional recovery centre of Sierra Norte de Madrid, as well as collaborating in large urban transport infrastructure projects of metro and light rail mainly in Canada, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates or Qatar. He has extensive international experience, having spent several years of his professional career in Abu Dhabi. Responsible for the coordination of structures, installations and urban and landscape adaptation in multiple international initiatives. He also has extensive experience in landscaping and sustainable urban design projects. As part of the Sener Mobility team, his background includes collaborations with renowned architectural and landscape firms.

Asier Abaunza Robles (Bilbao, 1978) holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Public University of Navarre. He is currently Delegate Councillor for Urban Planning, Strategic Projects and Public Space. He has been a member of Bilbao City Council since 2007. During this period he has been responsible for Mobility, Urban Planning, Civil Works, Services and Public Space. He has also been a member of several Boards of Directors and has chaired Districts 1 (Deusto) and 3 (Otxarkoaga-Txurdinaga), as well as several municipal companies (Artxanda Funicular, Surbisa and Bioartigas). Previously, he worked at Lantik, at the Derio Agricultural School, in several private companies and as an advisor to the General Secretariat for External Action of the Basque Government.

Anarcheology of the Postnatural
GABRIEL ALONSO is an artist and researcher, who trained at ETSAM (Madrid), the Technische Universität (Berlín), and graduated cum laude with a Master of Science in Critical, Curatorial and Conceptual Practices in Architecture (CCCP) at Columbia University in New York in 2018. Gabriel uses different formats – such as installation, sculpture, photography and video – in his work to research the contemporary relationships between fiction and materiality, to thus blur binomials between reality and imaginary, between human and artificial, and between natural and cultural. In 2020, he founded the Institute of Postnatural Studies, a centre of artistic experimentation where to explore and problematize postnature as a framework for contemporary creation. He has recently published his latest book La condición Postnatural: Glosario de Ecologías para otros mundos posibles.
Represented by the Pradiauto Ga (MAD), his work has been exhibited at different international galleries and exhibitions. He was an assistant professor at Barnard College at Columbia University (NY) and on the Master’s Degree in Advanced Architecture at ETSAM; he has lectured at different international institutions, museums and universities.

KELLER EASTERLING is a designer, writer and the Enid Storm Dwyer Professor of Architecture at Yale. Her books include, Medium Design (Verso 2021), Extrastatecraft: The Power of Infrastructure Space (Verso, 2014), Subtraction (Sternberg, 2014), Enduring Innocence: Global Architecture and its Political Masquerades (MIT, 2005) and Organization Space: Landscapes, Highways and Houses in America (MIT, 1999). Easterling is also the co-author (with Richard Prelinger) of Call it Home, a laserdisc/DVD history of US suburbia from 1934-1960. Easterling lectures and exhibits internationally. Her research and writing were included in the 2014 and 2018 Venice Biennales. Easterling is a 2019 United States Artist in Architecture and Design.

MODERATES
ETHEL BARAONA POHL is a critic, writer and curator, as well as a co-founder of the independent research studio and publishing house dpr-barcelona, which operates in the fields of architecture, political theory, and the social milieu. Their curatorial practice includes, among others, Twelve Cautionary Urban Tales (Matadero Madrid, 2020–21); and more recently, Llibres Model, a curated book collection and open library (Model, Barcelona Architectures Festival 2022, 2023). Their writing has been widely published, both in academic and independent international publications. They are Senior Assistant at the Chair of Architecture and Care at ETH Zürich. Ethel believes that publishing is a political act, and reading, a form of resistance.

PRESENTS
BEAR is an office based in Bilbao that explores the possibilities of architecture as a discursive practice, and operated as AZAB between 2018 and 2021. The office combines projects of various types and scales, work that has been recognised by EGURTEK awards, ARQUIA, BEAU and other local and international institutions. The result of its work has been widely published on high impact journals and websites.
In 2019, Ane and Iñigo received the Peña Ganchegui Prize for their work in the best Young Basque Architecture category.
In May 2022 BEAR was selected at the Ecosistemas.zip exhibition as one of the 10 most promising young studios in Spain.
ANE ARCE URTIAGA
Graduated in Architect (2013) from the University of Navarre, Spain, where she achieved distinction for her end-of-degree project. Her latest research project was at Academie Van Bowkunst Amsterdam.
Ane Arce combines professional projects with research and editorial activities. Her research projects have been recognized by BIA FORUM, COAVN or Bilbao City Council.
In 2016, she oversaw the Bilbao Architecture Week activities organized by Arkupe.
In 2018, she was the Content director of Bia International Forum organized by COAVN Bizkaia.
In parallel to her research work, she has been active professionally since 2014, when she has worked with Tecnalia on modular dwelling solutions and the Dutch office Bureau Sla.
In 2015, Ane and Iñigo Berasategui Orrantia founded BEAR.

IRATI INORIZA
Irati Inoriza (Balmaseda, 1992), artist and a PhD student in Contemporary Art Research at the University of the Basque Country, specialised at the Performance Atelier of Brno University (Czechia, 2013/14). Shortlisted for the Generación 2024 Award at La Casa Encendida (Madrid) and for the Basque Artist Program Guggenheim Bilbao & NY (2024), Irati has previously won the IX Artistic Production Prize awarded by the Banco Santander Foundation and Open Studio in 2021, and the Casal Solleric Exhibition Prize 2017 (Palma de Mallorca); she has also been a finalist of the Premi Miquel Casablancas (Barcelona) several years running.
Her work been shown at Babestu AZ-Alhondiga 2020/21 (Bilbao), Barriek 2020 (Bilbao), INJUVE 2018/19 (Madrid) and Bilbao Arte Fundazioa 2016 (Bilbao). She has shown in exhibitions at Intermediae-Matadero (Madrid, 2023/24), Sala Rekalde (Bilbao, 2023), RAUMMG16 (Colonia-DEU, 2022), Ateljéföreningen Hospitalet (Uppsala-SWE, 2022), Festival LOOP (BCN, 2020), Pablo’s Birthday (NY, 2019), ZSenne Art Lab (Bruselas-BE, 2019), Montehermoso Cultural Centre (Vitoria-Gasteiz,2019), A-DASH Space (Atenas-GR, 2018), Okela (Bilbao, 2016) and at Farm Cultural Park (Sicilia-IT,2014), inter alia.

PEIO AGUIRRE
Independent curator and editor. Peio Aguirre lives and works in San Sebastián. He is the author of La línea de producción de la crític’ (consonni, 2014) and Estilo. Estética, vida y consumo (Turner, 2022).
Peio has curated exhibitions at MACBA – Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona; Tabakalera, San Sebastián; ARTIUM, Vitoria-Gasteiz; CAAM – Atlantic Centre of Modern Art in Gran Canaria; San Telmo Museum, San Sebastián; Bilbao Fine Arts Museum; CA2M, Móstoles, among other institutions. In 2019, he curated the Spanish Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale, where he showcased Sergio Prego and Itziar Okariz.
Since 2000, Peio has published in international and national newspapers and journals including Mugalari (Gara), Cultura(s) de La Vanguardia; EXIT, A-desk; After all Journal; A Prior Magazine; Flash Art; El estado mental; e-flux journal; Concreta; Babelia (El País), etc.
Since 2018, he has lectured at Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, San Sebastián. Since 2021, he has been a cross-border contributor to the École superieure d’art Pays Basque, Biarritz/Bayonne.
Along with the architect Andrés Carretero, he edits the Materiales concretos blogzine of the ‘art-architecture complex’. www.materialesconcretos.org. In 2021, he was the winner of the Gure Artea Award for the work of the different visual art stakeholders in the Basque Country.

Natural History of architecture
PHILIPPE RAHM is a Swiss architect, and the lead partner at ‘Philippe Rahm architectes’, based in Paris, France. His work – which extends the field of architecture from the physiological to the meteorological – has reached an international audience in the context of sustainability. His recent work includes the first prize for the Farini competition (60 ha) in Milan in 2019; the 70-hectare Central Park in Taichung, Taiwan, completed in December 2020; and a 2700-m2 Exhibition architecture for Luma Foundation in Arles, France. He has held professorships at GSD Harvard University, Cornell, Princeton and Columbia University where Mr Rahm is currently the Dean’s Visiting Associate Professor. He is a tenured associate professor at the National Superior School of Architecture in Versailles, France (ENSA-V). In 2020, he was the curator of the ‘Natural History of Architecture’ exhibition at the Pavillon de l’Arsenal in Paris. Climatic architecture, a monographic book is published at Fall 2023.

IÑAKI ABALOS has a PhD in Architecture, is a Tenured Professor of Projects at ETSA Madrid (2002- ) and Visiting Critic at GSD Harvard University (2016- ). He was ‘Kenzo Tange Professor’ (2009), Design Critic (2010-2012) and held the Chair of the Department of Architecture at GSD Harvard University (2012-2016). He also has a Master of Science from the CAUP at Tongji University, Shanghai (2015) and a RIBA Fellowship (2009).
Iñaki has been a Buell Book Fellow and Visiting Professor at Columbia University (New York, 1995), Diploma Unit Master at the Architectural Association (London 1998-2000), Visiting Professor at EPF (Lausanne, 1998), Jean Labatute Professor at Princeton University (New Jersey, 2004-2007), Visiting Professor at Cornell University (Ithaca, 2007-2008), and professor and member of the Executive Board at the BIArch (Barcelona, 2010-2012). He has been the ‘Kenzo Tange Professor’ (2009), Visiting Critic of Architecture and Urban Design (2010-2012), and Chair of the Architecture Department (2012-2016) at GSD Harvard University, where he is currently the Visiting Critic. He has been the Tenured Professor of Architectural Projects at ETSA Madrid since 2002.

MOISÉS PUENTE studied architecture at the schools of A Coruña, Rome and Barcelona, and graduated from the latter. He was the architecture editor at Editorial Gustavo Gili (1998-2020), editor of the revista2G journal (Barcelona, 1999-2016) and director since 2016, now published by the German Walther König publishers, where he also edits the 2Gessays book collection. In 2016, Moisés founded his own publishing houses, Puente editores, which publishes contemporary art and architecture essays. In 2010, he was the winner of the FAD Thought and Criticism Award for his publishing work; in 2021, he received the Medal of the Catalan Professional Association of Architects for his career as an architecture publisher. He is currently director of the Historical Archive and Library of the Catalan Professional Association of Architects (COAC).
