BIA is Bilbao Bizkaia Architecture<\/h3>\n

The platform that disseminates and promotes Bizkaia architecture emerging from the Delegation in Bizkaia of the Basque-Navarre Institute of Architects.<\/h4>\n

It pools the experience and expertise both of the sector’s leading companies and small independent studios, all of which have great exportable value. Where and how did BIA start up?<\/h4>\n

The history of Bilbao\u2019s history shows how the city has been at the vanguard right from its earliest days. “Bilbao” is now known for being synonymous with first-rate architecture and urban renewal. At the same time, the professionals working in the field of architecture in Bilbao and Bizkaia are acquiring new skill-sets and increasingly greater knowledge is being created.<\/p>\n

2013 marked the 20th anniversary of a key event, entitled “Architectures for Bilbao”, organised by Bilbao R\u00eda 2000 at the Fine Arts Museum in 1993. Authors of the ilk of Norman Foster, Frank O. Gehry, C\u00e9sar Pelli, Roberto Ercilla and Miguel \u00c1ngel Campo outlined and explained their projects. It seemed right and proper that nearly a quarter of a century later, an event was being held that reaps the rewards of the seeds planted back in 1993. Months earlier, a working party under the Delegation\u2019s Culture Committee laid down the guidelines for what this project must signify.<\/p>\n

The proposal was to associate the transformation and the entrepreneurial spirit of Bilbao and Bizkaia, as well as their international dimension, with the strategic construction sector, and to showcase the extremely high quality of the business fabric of Bizkaia\u2019s professional services in the sector (architecture firms, technology centres, engineering firms, building material companies, etc…)[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row section_type=”container-width” padding_top_multiplier=”2x” rc_heading_color=”primary-1″ rc_link_color=”light” rc_bg_type=”color” columns_gap=”none” equal_column_height=”equal” rc_margin_bottom=”0″][vc_column width=”1\/2″ rc_heading_color=”light” rc_link_color=”light” rc_bg_type=”color” css=”.vc_custom_1606229011453{padding-top: 40px !important;padding-right: 50px !important;padding-bottom: 40px !important;padding-left: 50px !important;}” rc_bg_color=”#696158″ rc_font_color=”#ffffff”]
