Bizkaia Architects launch the biaorum.org to disseminate the “Bilbao Bizkaia Architecture” (BIA) initiative

The submission period for papers for the scientific conference to be held in Bilbao in September is now open and will end on 30 June Around 300 international experts will focus on how to achieve a living city, which is liveable, attractive and prosperous, taking urban planning, architecture and sustainability as cross-cutting disciplines into account. Bilbao, 15 May 2014.- BIA (Bilbao Bizkaia Architecture), the initiative to energize architecture and urban planning recently unveiled by the Bizkaia Delegation of the Basque-Navarra Institute of Architects (COAVN) has launched the demo.mobide.es/bia, the website where all its activities will be disseminated from now on.The website includes the Urban Regeneration Forum Manifesto, a news section and comprehensive information on the international architecture scientific conference to be held in Bilbao in September.   The start of the submission period for papers for the congress is featured on the website. The congress seeks to focus its discussions on the question of how to achieve a living city, which is liveable, attractive and prosperous, and considering urban planning, architecture and sustainability as cross-cutting disciplines.Around 300 international experts will be attending the forum.Registration for the congress is also enabled on the website.   Smart cities, ones that can be made into pedestrian zones, energy-efficient cities, in short, human cities, will be centre-stage at the forum, which is being held for the first time. The specific topics to be addressed will be:   Public space as a driver for urban regeneration. Regeneration in an era of austerity. Leadership in urban regeneration.  Sociological components of urban regeneration. Education as a core driving force for development. Top down versus Bottom up....
